2003 USA Made Mirra Pro S351

What can I say about the 2003 USA made Dave Mirra Pro S351 frame? The thought alone of owning one of the two known to the world certainly makes me want one. I’m sure all USA Haro collectors and Haro collectors similarly feel the same. This is one of those frames that you just don’t see and I don’t remember ever seeing an ad for the USA made frame either. In short and to drive it home even more we didn’t know this USA made frame existed up until three or four years ago when the first one appeared for sale online.

What’s the difference?

So how do you know you have, or found, a 2003 USA made Dave Mirra Pro frame and not just another Taiwan S351? Firstly, you’ll need to check where the 990 mounts are placed which is suppose to be on the chainstays. However on the other hand, the 03 S351 Taiwan aftermarket frame also has the 990s on the chainstay as an option, but with this list you’ll be able tell which is the 2003 USA made Dave Mirra Pro.

Secondly, and most importantly, we’re going to be looking for the serial number. It’s not on the bottom bracket on the USA models it’s on the right dropout and starts with H0XXXX. Just to clarify that should be enough to stamp it as a USA frame. But if you want to take it a couple steps further make sure there’s no weeping holes in the tubes. In addition, you can look for a Haro aluminum badge keep in mind that they can fall of throughout the years. Moreover, the USA made frames were only offered with an American bottom bracket not Euro bottom bracket.

Found a 2003 USA Made Mirra Pro S351?

In conclusion, and most importantly, just remember there are no Haro stamps anywhere on the frame to let you know what it is. In others words, there are no 4130 CRMO stampings on the dropouts, or serial number on the bottom bracket. I’ll do a in depth write up on all the USA made frame indicators a bit later.
